Daniel Craig is incomplete in new artsy Dragon Tattoo poster

09.19.2011by:

I'm guessing the film will turn out pretty well, but I have to say the marketing for David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO has been some of the best I've seen in a while. And I'm not just saying that because its first poster had a topless girl in it.

Rather, the promotional materials have actual thought put into them, and here with this new poster from graphic artist Neil Kellerhouse they've done a new take on the "giant celebrity head" theory that plagues most posters to date.

Clearly Craig is missing some Rooney Mara, and when the two come together, they'll be an unstoppable crime fighting machine who occasionally get distracted by screwing each other.

See it bigger at the Pimpin' Poster Palace.

I love the poster. Don't really care for David Fincher movies though.

Def weird BUT...

...that's how Fincher does it sometimes. I'd prefer this over some lame poster with colors and fire all over with cheesy slogans everywhere telling me how much Lisbeth Salander will rock my socks off or whatever.

I agree, it looks like a cologne ad. It's not something that will get me me to see the movie.

Extra Tidbit

Not sure if I agree, but the second book is amazing and much better than the movie. Everyone should read the first book and watch the original movie before seeing Fincher's version. I can't wait to see this.

This movie has a lot of hype but with Fincher films that tends to happen. It's gonna deliver and if its not one of the greatest of all time then just thank him for the naked Rooney Mara and that's that

This film is going to blow the mediocre Swedish version out of the water. David Fincher has yet to make a bad film (Alien 3 doesn't count). Plus, this material fits with his serial killer expertise.

Been iffy about this film, but I agree, it's marketing has been fantastic. At first I hated the music video-esque trailer for the movie, but after seeing it a couple times and contemplating it on a technical merit, it's probably the best trailer of the year (so many cuts, it really is like a mini-music video). I think the marketing for the film is enough to get me into the theater. I still think, however, that Noomi Rapace won't be topped. But, hopefully I am wrong, and Rooney Mara gives a

After the trailer, I have no need for any more advertising. I'm already going to see the film no matter what now. So why do I want to see half of Daniel Craig?

What the fuck is taking so long? The Swedish Trilogy was made, released and hit DVD in the time it's taking this bloated barrel of shite to even get made.

The original trilogy cost approximately 25 million euros in total. That's three films for a quarter the price this over-hyped piece of shit cost.

Screw Hollywood, I'm gonna learn Swedish so I can get more out of the -undoubtedly- superior originals.

The original movies had good stories because they didn't stray from the books but they looked really cheap and weren't really well made. If you think Fincher is wasting time on a cheap movie you shouldn't be watching movies.
