Daniel Cudmore will not play Colossus in Deadpool

As the casting call expands for roles in Tim Miller's upcoming DEADPOOL widens, we have additional news on the inclusion of X-MEN character Colossus.

Colossus was played in X2: X-MEN UNITED, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST by actor Daniel Cudmore. The actor was recently asked via Twitter about his excitement regarding his role being included in DEADPOOL. He had this to say in response.

I would think if Colossus were a minor role in DEADPOOL that the producers would keep the continuity with the main X-MEN franchise and use Cudmore. But, the recasting likely means it will be a more substantial part of the story. This also raises the question as to how DEADPOOL will connect to the X-MEN movies or even if the film will address Ryan Reynolds' appearance in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. I would like to think they can have a lot of fun mocking that film.

DEADPOOL hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.
