Daredevil has no need for an iron suit or magic hammer in this new trailer

I hope you've had your fill of House of Cards and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, as Marvel is taking it's game to Netflix in one month from today! That's right, Daredevil is getting the reboot it rightly deserves in what looks to be a more down-to-Earth and character driven tale. You can check out Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio go head-to-head in the latest trailer below!

While I'm generally not the biggest fan of comic book heroes on the smaller screen, I've always had a soft spot for Daredevil. Despite all the hate, I think there are some aspects the version starring Ben Affleck nailed (only some), but I have big hopes that Marvel is going to succeed where that flick failed. No playground fight scenes, for one. Couple that with the fact the entire season is at our disposal at once and you have one of Marvel's must-see events of the year. Right behind ANT-MAN, of course.

Kidding, Paul Rudd. I love you.

Daredevil's 13-episode season will Netflix on April 10, 2015.

Finally, WB has a proper blueprint to follow for "dark and gritty" DC superheroes that need to be dark and gritty.

The Batman movies aren't dark and gritty superhero movies, they're dark and gritty crime movies where a guy dresses up in body armour for about 10 minutes.

You have a point there. I like Nolan's films, the 3rd one not so much. But when they become so realistic that a grown man dressed in a Batsuit looks almost silly you have a problem. The action, at least the fights, were also kind of boring. I applaud Nolan for grounding the story and making things matter, Burton for his pulp and gothic sense, and Snyder for his kinetic action.

Marvel is starting to get it. Some superheroes were meant for dark and gritty, but only some. Play on what makes a character unique, and don't force every single character from your pantheon to fit into the same mold. Dark and gritty can be fun, but only for characters like Daredevil and Batman. These characters were originally conceived to be hard boiled crime fighters.

Arrow couldn't hold me past the first season, Flash will probably be no different, Agents of Shield bores me and I'm not even going to bother with Gotham. NOW, I'm not saying they're bad shows, just not my cup of tea. This though, this actually looks good. Thankfully it's on Netflix and not network TV. Here's hoping for the best.

It turns out they're not so different, he and him

I guess they ARE two sides of the same coin in a way, but I still can't help but shake my head when a villain talks up how the two of them are exactly the same. And then the hero dutifully says "I'm nothing like you!" but it's ironic because we as the audience know that's not quite true. Other than that, I'm excited as hell for this show :P

The Affleck movie was okay. If you don't mind the race swap, whic I didn't Michael Clark Duncan was a perfect Kingpin (I'd argue moreso than this version. They alos did a decent job with the other charecters (even If Affleck wasn't great). Wat undermined it was some of the goofy stuff and bad early 2000's special effects.

Excited for htis version (by the way was that Scott Glenn as Stick because I'm looking foreward to that) and as for the Puniser his return to Marvle needs to be in Civil

Excited for htis version (by the way was that Scott Glenn as Stick because I'm looking foreward to that) and as for the Puniser his return to Marvle needs to be in Civil War in a scene taken straight out of the comic. Just unanounced and with no warning he needs to sow up in the movie.

As long as it's not Thomas Jane. I wouldn't complain too much if it were him again, but I'd rather it be someone different, even a much lesser known actor.

So no one's going to hate on this for being dark, edgy, and not having the original costume like how it is with the new Fantastic 4 movie? ... Having said that, I find myself being more interested in this than Gotham at least.

I think part of that has to do with Marvel playing the long game with its properties. So even if the suit isn't the one we all know, one day it could be.

I doubt it because the tone is in sync with the source. This was what most people were asking for. FF is a totally (and tonally) different property.

This is the correct tone and accurate costume for the run of the comic that they did.

The dark tone wasn't always there. It became dark when Frank Miller took the series. He reimagined it, much like how Trank is doing now, just not as severe as Miller.

Agreed about Fantastic 4. But this does look pretty close to Millers Daredevil...Elektra Lives Again was so good.
DD had this same black homemade ninja suit in Man Without Fear. I guess Fantastic 4 has been changed more but it looks very promising to me. A whole lot more than the fluffy FF films they made before.

Awesome

Love the look of it, and agree with everyone else... but did anyone else think, for a split second, when Battlin' Jack holds his son after he is blinded, he looked a little like Affleck?? Now THAT would be cool

This looks great!

And I really think this is the perfect vehicle to reintroduce the Punisher into the Marvel Universe. His story lines with Daredevil were always so badass and would make a perfect fit in the grim tone I'm getting from this. DO IT MARVEL!

Just imagine if they were to set up season two like this. A phantom is taking out bad guys left and right. The bodies are piling up. Some of them are likely targets of Daredevil, but he's always two steps behind... This phantom becomes his new target, when they finally face off, it's none other than Frank Castle. He stands in the shadows with only his silhouette showing with a blazing skull on his chest... Fade to black

Awesome trailer.

This will be the 1st superhero series I'll definitely watch. And for the record, I think the DD movie was good. Not brilliant but not a complete failure either. I don't get the hate for it!

Loving the vibe and tone.......almost feels like it could be a series about the Punisher as well.

But I'm glad this trailer spent more time focusing on Kingpin who I'm very excited to see D'Onofrio portray. And the Iron suit and Magic hammer was a very nice touch and easter egg. Hope there's more to come in that department throughout the series.
