Dark Knight goodies

06.18.2007
Okay there is a bunch of THE DARK KNIGHT pictures and rumors that have arisen recently, so I'm gonna lead you through them all. I'll go to the pictures first, and then those of you who don't want to read about spoilers can avert your eyes. If you want to be on the safe side, scroll down as far as the motorcycle and then no further.

First of all, you can find a bunch of pictures of Batman on set HERE.

And here is a look at what is reportedly Batman's motorbike, for THE DARK KNIGHT. You can probably pick up chicks like nobody's business, cruising around Gotham in that thing.

Next, a potentially major SPOILER:

Filmick also report confirmation of an earlier rumor that Anthony Michael Hall (THE DEAD ZONE) will in fact be playing Edward Nygma. The astute of you will recognise that this is the real name of villain, The Riddler. This would make sense, since when he was cast he had signed an agreement that he wouldn't reveal who he was playing due to it being a major spoiler. It also looks like the next flick ill feature both Two Face and The Riddler as villains. Cool, because that worked out so well before.

Click HERE to check out a couple more spoilers that Filmick are reporting.

?

So I did a little bit of Dark Knight research, and read that the directors have been using a lot of influence from the comics, and one of the main ones they've used is The Long Halloween, and one of the characters is a Vernon Fields, the man responsible for giving two face his second face, any chance that AMH, if he isn't really Riddler, maybe thats who he is?

LET US NOT FORGET ....

... Batman Begins had 3 major villains: Ra's Al Ghoul, Scarecrow and Carmine Falcone, and they all were great. No doubt Nolan can handle multiple villains.

Hmm..

When AMH revealed that he is in fact a part of TDK, and his character's name is too much of a spoiler to reveal, my first guess was definitely Edward Nygma. He could pull it off, despite him being with, and I quote, "barely any star power". However, I seriously doubt that he'll be having a major role in TDK. I'd bet you that he'll be a Zsasz-type cameo, but Nygma being a better known villain than Zsasz (IMHO) Nygma may get some development in the next inevitable sequel. I've also read rumors on

I've also read rumors on a Jason Bard appearance in a brief scene, so if its all true, I could pretty much guess where Nolan is going with TDK. He's trying to take the trivial characters and meet them all up to make it feel very 'Gotham-y'. The way I see it right now, it's an evolution; Joker (already the villain), Dent (soon to be), Nygma (brief intro/trivial appearance) and Jason Bard just to spice it up. Hell, there's even a rumored Renee Montoya appearance.

However, in another possibility (which I personally don't favor that much but cool nonetheless), there were rumors that AMH is going to play this pivotal character from The Long Halloween...but well rumors are rumors and it ain't really in black & white like the holidays huh?

now, in current continuity

...which Nolan seems to be a fan of, The Riddler is actually a reformed criminal who's more of a amateur sleuth/con artist rather than an arch-villain... which I think is a much more effective approach for someone like Edward Nigma. I always thought that The Riddler was kind of a pussy compared to Batman's other great rogues. I like this news a lot. And in response to the new cycle possibly having guns... hey, the Tumbler had fucking grenade launchers, man! Batman would never use the guns on

They would most likely be used for all-purpose destruction. People REALLY need to stop dissing Nolan. Of comic-book properties, he's in the same league as Raimi, Donner, Singer or Rodriguez. He's not a Schumacher, a Story, a Norrington, a Ratner or a Burton. Just as a director and storyteller, he's a great filmmaker period.

The fact that they're casted as the alter-egos of the villains doesn't mean the villain is going to be in the movie any time soon. Or maybe just an appearance (like Mr. Zsasz in the first film). I wouldn't worry.. Nolan is a great director and at least made a good Batman film, hell, it was the best one yet. (sorry, but I feel Burton's versions just a tad bit better than Schumacher's but in the same boat none-the-less).

Two Villians? No.

I believe everyone is getting ahead of themselves. The villian in the thrid will be one, or the other (I think riddler). See, you set up the 2 charcters, and give them some screen time in the movies (which ever one isn't the villian in the 3rd), and then in the 4th is when that one would go crazy!

Really? I hope not...

FIRST of all -(if this news break is factual, of course) AMH should not be The GODDAMN Riddler, the man has barely any star power or clout nowadays. He was the shit in the 80's as a teen dork, but today? C'mon! I just can't see Nolan giving that man such a heavy part. First Eric Roberts gets the part Bob Hoskins should have had, now this? WTF?
SECOND- Why would Nolan retread BATMAN FOREVER? The man strives on originality, shit, he doesn't even direct actors in the Batman films who've had

Do kinda like the Bat-cycle though...

As much as i love batman i always thought the batcycle was gay. And unlike batman forever which sucked, If 2-face and the riddler are in fact in part 3 chris nolan wouldnt kill the film and would make it work. Im praying that Hall is the mad hatter as well, All though i wish someone would cast an actor as the ventriloquist!

WELL ....

... I wouldn't jump so quickly to conclusion that Hall will be playing Edward Nygma. Rumors are rumors, facts are facts.Who knows, maybe he'll be Mad Hatter. :)

For everyone against this, have you forgot that Nolan and team made arguably the best comic book movie ever made. Or at least, if not the best, one of. I think Nolan and Schumacher are in very different leagues and Nolan wont make the same mistakes as he Schumacher did. Have some faith in the talent people.

Boring...

WB, please hook up with HBO or whoever, and start a Batman director series. Let them make Batman in the 50s, Gotham by Gaslight, Slapstick Batman... whatever. Basically a live-action version of Black and White. Let the visionaries go nuts, and in fact I would even stay away from the spoiled big boys like Nolan and Singer.

Part one, as spraragen said, only their alter egos are both in. Not the villans themself (confirmed, anyway)

Part two, the last time it happened was twelve years ago under Joel Schumacher, and no offense to him (Phone Booth, Phantom of the Opera, and Lost Boys all kicked ass, IMHO), but that was a whole other deal that was NOT under Chris Nolan, so....have some faith, huh?

Part three....Hall as Nygma....*giggles in anticipation*

Now all we need is Sarah Michelle Gellar as Harley and

Only one vilain...

It hasn't been said yet that two-face and riddler are villains. Only their original ego's (Dent and Nygma) are announced for the film. Remember they were people before they turned to a life of crime.

I trust Nolan, but I hope he doesn't end up getting bogged down with too many characters like Raimi did with Spiderman 3.

Oh, and AICN reported on a similar piece about Batman's motorcycle, but it turned out the motorcycle was from some show at Universal theme park, not the movie.

i wonder why they would want to pair those to up for the #3 again ? its as if they will not learn their lesson. its bad enough that adding more than one villain can destroy a movie, but now they are using the same pairing as a movie before them. the riddler CAN have his own movie, just watch the batman cartoon.

and i wonder if those are guns on the front of the motorcycle? because batman really is opposed to using guns. seeing as how thats how his parents died.

thoo.

i think itll work a little better this time, seeing as these two guys probably wont overact the crap out of this.

i liked carrey as the riddler, he was the right choice, in my opinion, but tommy lee jones was terrible. and the scene when he gets the acid thrown on him, and batman jumps out in the court room makes me laugh so hard everytime.
