While everyone is focused on Comic-Con, Darren Aronofsky is hard at work on the set of NOAH. He was even nice enough to tweet us a photo from location of...

The Ark.

No, not the Ark of the Covenant, different story. THE ARK. Noah's big ass boat that measured 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. I know, what's a cubit? It was a unit of measurement used in the Bible. Here is some info I found in measurements we can understand (I don't do math):

What were the dimensions of Noah's Ark? The Ark was taller than a 3-story building and had a deck area the size of 36 lawn tennis courts. Its length was 300 cubits (450 feet, or 135 meters); its width was 50 cubits (75 feet, or 22.5 meters); it had three stories and its height was 30 cubits (45 feet, or 13.5 meters).

He tweeted this along with the photo:

"I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it's a reality. Genesis 6:14"

And Genesis 6:14, I used the New International translation:

"So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out."

Take a look at the Ark below. Damn that's impressive. I want to go to there.

religious beliefs (or lack there of) aside, just knowing that Aronofsky is that dedicated to his craft that him and his crew would build a legit ark! consider my ticket sold.

So he passed on The Wolverine for this? Great filmmaker yes but how can you make a movie about Noah watchable?

A full-scale, real-life ark! Not a miniature model, CGI render or partial set? Wow - wonder if Aronofsky will go the full hog, because that thing will be gigantic. I hope that after filming is done, they preserve the set for display and don't take it down. Looking forward to this.

It's being built in an arboretum in Long Island. They are paying over $250,000 to be there. They won't keep it up.
