Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic Noah catches a wave

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Fans of adamantium-laced mutants and the work of filmmaker Darren Aronofsky are probably still smarting over his departure from THE WOLVERINE. And while it will be some time before we see how well replacement James Mangold acquits himself with Logan’s Japanese adventure, Aronofsky will be busy with another epic tale.

Aronofsky finally appears to have the go-ahead on his passion project NOAH, with Paramount and New Regency coming together to cover the substantial cost (potentially $130 million) of the environmental disaster/bible story.

GLADIATOR screenwriter John Logan is working on the script for the project, which could begin production in the spring. Aronofsky was previously chasing Christian Bale for the title role of the legendary animal-loving ark builder.

The director had previously worked with Canadian artist Nico Henrichon on some artwork to help convey his visual intentions, you can check that out below.
