Deadpool 2 mercs a box office record with $18.6 million Thursday night

The numbers are in, and it looks as if David Leitch's DEADPOOL 2 starring Ryan Reynolds has opened with a massive $18.6 million during the film's Thursday night preview. As a result of the earnings, DEADPOOL 2 has sent the previous record holder for an R-rated preview, Andy Muschietti's IT, back into the sewers of Derry, Maine. Furthermore, with DEADPOOL 2 predicted to score a total of $130 million to $150 million across 4,349 screens, the Merc with a Mouth's latest family-oriented adventure will end AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR's three-week box office rule.

Back in February of 2016, the original DEADPOOL surprised everyone by bursting onto the scene with a $132.4 million debut, during its opening weekend. From there, the Tim Miller-directed romp went on to earn $363 million in North America and $783 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. With such an impressive opening for DEADPOOL 2, it's to be thought that the superhero sequel with a lot of heart (and a lot of blood), could perform better than its predecessor, in the weeks to come.

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Have you seen DEADPOOL 2 yet? If you have, be sure to tell us your thoughts. My wife I and I checked the movie out last night, and absolutely loved it. I hope you all enjoy your time at the movies, this weekend. Oh, and be sure to wear your brown pants.
