Deadpool helmer Tim Miller gives us an update on the film's progress

Oct. 19, 2012by: Niki Stephens

This isn't a huge update on the Merc with a mouth, but hey, it's something.

DEADPOOL helmer Tim Miller wanted to let the fans know where the project was at the moment during an exchange with Nerd Reactor:

Weve turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development thatIm confidentwould get the fans stoked. And Ryan still loves the project. So its really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happensall I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead.

Anything is better than nothing. However, I fear that this scenario is just going to come up again and again. "Oh hey, Fox is still dwelling on it. Still pushing for it. Can't wait to share it with you guys. Thinking something will happen soon." I don't know what the deal is with Fox. They either need to get some balls or just tell them they don't think the project is a good idea. Look, you guys f*cked up Deadpool in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, obviously the only way to rectify the situation is to put out the DEADPOOL movie. Then again, I don't own a studio so I really have no say in the matter. I can only hope that someone out there is listening to the cries of the fans.

Still, thank you to Miller for letting everyone know what was going on.

dunno if...

they could pull this off. Is he going to break the fourth wall? that's a character trait that fans love.

Not to rain on everybody's parade, but Ryan Reynolds hasn't exactly established himself as a credible leading man. He's kind of like Colin Farrell. He has the looks, the charisma, the talent, but audiences ignore him. If I were Fox, I'd wait to see how R.I.P.D. does at theaters. If it does well and Ryan Reynolds star quality appreciates, I'd greenlight the film. Otherwise, I'd wait for the right star.

Hopefully with Mark Millar now at Fox this will happen. All the pieces are in place for a good movie, let's hope it finally happens.

So basically: "We're just waiting for Fox to pay up, actually give the green light and stop trying to sniff each other's asses trying to figure out who's shit smells better."

Fuck Fox. Never rely on them to make any good decisions. Look at FireFly, enough said, FUCK FOX!

If it's up to Fox, eh? The movie won't see the light of day.
