Deleted scene from Halloween has Psycho vibes; First Blu-ray details arrive

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

HALLOWEEN came, conquered, and now stands as the highest-grossing slasher movie of all time. Although the movie only came out a month ago it’s already slated for a December 28 digital release, and a Blu-ray drop scheduled for January 15, 2019. No doubt there will be some terrific special features coming with the home release, and now you can see the first deleted scene from the movie involving an eerie moment that should remind everyone why you never take a shower if you’re in a horror movie.

The scene stars Jefferson Hall and Rhian Rees as the true-crime podcasters we see at the start of the movie, which of course comes before they were *SPOILER* brutally murdered at the hands of their subject – Michael Myers. Frankly, these two characters were asking for it from the get-go, so if this scene was cut to get to their death even sooner than I say it was a smart move.

On top of the deleted scene, the details of the Blu-ray features were released, and the contents include seven deleted scenes – like the "Shower Mask Visit" we see here and "Jog to a Hanging Dog," which sounds upsetting. Among the other featurettes are some exploring the making of the movie and one focusing on Jamie Lee Curtis’ much-welcome return to the series.
