Dellamorte Dellamore 2 – zombies rise again in a sequel to Cemetery Man??

There are a few cult movies that should be viewed by any true genre fan, and DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE (aka CEMETERY MAN) is on that list. At least for anyone interested in zombies, Euro weirdness, and the spectacular nakedness of Anna Falchi.

The 1994 original from director Michele Soavi starred Rupert Everett as Francesco Dellamorte, a graveyard attendant in a sleepy Italian town where the corpses don’t stay in the ground. He finds love in the drool-inducing form of a mysterious woman, but that situation turns sour and he finds himself yearning to travel beyond his home.

Now Fangoria has learned, through Soavi friend and colleague Luigi Cozzi, that Dellamorte may return to sink his shovel in the rotting skulls of more coffin dodgers: “Michele has told me that he has started to write the script for a special horror project he plans to shoot between the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012: a sequel to his Gothic masterpiece DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE, a.k.a. CEMETERY MAN. He’s going to produce it himself and wants it to really be a great, strong, shocking Italian horror movie.”

No word on whether original star Everett would return to the character, but Soavi reportedly also has other non-DELLAMORE plans — a bizarre-sounding project “in the style of THE GOONIES, starring Nicolas Cage, about some boys’ adventures in Pompeii, the dead Roman city near the Vesuvius volcano, while searching for a hidden treasure.”
