Depp goes Spongebob

Johnny
Depp seems to be quite a big fan of animated TV shows beginning with
MTV’s “Beavis and Butthead” all those years ago, during
which time rumors came out that he would have liked to play one of
the two teenage morons in a live-action version of the cartoon. That
didn’t happen, but Depp lent his voice to Mike Judge’s next big
animated success TV project entitled “King of the Hill” in
2004, as a character named Yogi Victor.

Well, now he’s back behind the mic for one of my
favorite shows to watch when high as a kite, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS,
as an enigmatic surfer character named the Jack
Kahuna Laguna. The special episode follows a stranded SpongeBob and his friends as they search for Jack Kahuna Laguna
to teach them the gnarly surf moves to hit the elusive wave, The Big One, in order to return to Bikini Bottom. The special
will premiere on Nickelodeon on April 17th at 8pm (ET/PST), in
celebration of the sponged one’s 10-year anniversary. Congrats
Bobby! Check out the short clip from the show below…
