This week on THE TOURIST... Johnny Depp!

The talent involved with this tumultuous thriller seem to be taking the title seriously, stopping in for a short stay before moving on to other destinations.

First, Tom Cruise exited the project and Sam Worthington hopped on board to join Charlize Theron in the film. Then she also bought a ticket to Splitsville, and Angelina Jolie stepped in to lick the leftovers. And now Depp is sliding in as the male lead.

Of course, the project is also once again seeking a director, after Bhallat Nalluri (MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY) departed and replacement Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (THE LIVES OF OTHERS) barely stayed long enough to warm the seat cushion. Alfonso Cuaron (CHILDREN OF MEN) is the latest to discuss the possibility of maybe directing but first leaving.

Eventually the project will works its way through everyone until it stars Linda Hunt and Kermit the Frog, directed by Jess Franco.

The movie (a remake of the 2005 French film ANTHONY ZIMMER) involves "a female Interpol agent chooses an everyman American tourist visiting France and dangles him as bait in the hunt for a wanted criminal, who's also her former lover."

Linda Hunt sure, but Kermit the Frog....not sure he's got the range to take on a role like this. But hey anyone willing to flick his tongue at Miss Piggy's bacon should get consideration.

Yes.
Fantastic. While I'm indifferent to what this film is actually like, I'm hoping for a sex scene. Depp is one of the most beautiful men alive, and I'm more than slightly gay for Jolie.

I'm not crazy about Worthington. I don't understand why he's everywhere. He seems very generic and not very special or unique. Most actors have something about them. Worthington I guess is they he makes me bored and uninterested. Talented trait. ;)

Still never really on board with Angelina as an ACTRESS but I'm getting more excited about this by the day!! I want updates on Depps The Rum Diary too!! I 'm so pumped for that.

Im mad confused. Did Worthington get the boot or is he still in film just not as the lead. That would suck if he got axed just cause Theron said peace.
