After the disaster that was BABYLON A.D., Vin Diesel needs a hit worse than Vinny Chase (did anyone see MEDILLIN? Yikes). Already set to star in FAST & FURIOUS with Paul Walker–a blatant attempt to re-capture the early career magic that had Mr. Diesel pegged as Ahnold 2.0–Vin is now in talks to revisit another one of his early hits, furthering his dizzying quest for box office mojo.
The buff baldie is in talks to reprise his role as Xander Cage in a sequel to his baby blockbuster XXX. The third installment in the series (the second featured Ice Cube) will appropriately be called XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE and will re-team the action star with the first film’s director Rob Cohen. This recent trend of struggling actors reprising old roles that made them famous is happening at a much quicker rate than it has in the past. It feels like Vin Diesel was a sure thing only a couple years ago, yet he’s already fresh out of ideas. My my Hollywood, thou is a fickle, fickle place.
