Director Colin Trevorrow is teasing a return to Isla Nublar for Jurassic Park 4

May. 2, 2013by: Niki Stephens

I watched SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED for two reasons:

1. Aubrey Plaza

2. Colin Trevorrow is helming JURASSIC PARK 4.

Can I remark on what a huge leap directing something like that then going to a JURASSIC PARK film is? Does he realize what a big deal this is? It's been 12-years since the last installment, and the first one is pretty untouchable. I'm sure Trevorrow knows the amount of responsibility that he's accepted. I can tell you that after seeing these two tweets from this man that he gets it.

It also made me go back and find out how old I was when the first one came out. I was nine and it was the best experience for a nine year old who freaking loves dinosaurs could have. The picture backs up the rumors that the fourth film will go back to the fictional island of Isla Nublar. The two installments after that took place on Isla Sorna (Site B). There are so many things running through my mind right now.

Clever girl, Mr. Trevorrow.

Sounds good.

Remember Spielberg only had one small film under his belt when he directed Jaws.

People need to cut this some slack...we've accepted a 7th Star Wars..enough of us went and watched the latest die hard for it to warrant a 6th being made...this was inevitable one day so let's all feel 12 again and go crazy for dinosaurs!!

Or complain afterwards that they shouldn't of done it

That would be cool to see Isla Nublar 20 years later.

This could be awesome...

...especially if when they go back to the island you see the busted up remnants of the events that took place in JP1. And please...please do something with the canister of embryos. Even if it's not a major plot point at least have someone stumble upon it or something. They did a close-up shot of it falling and getting covered with mud and then...never did anything with it in the other two movies. It was clearly a set up for something.

Everyone wants something with the canister, lol. I did too, but when you think about it, with the embryos dead after 36 hrs (or whatever), it would mean nothing to plot point. If anything, I would love to see people treking threw the jungle and they pan down and just have them walk right by it, partially covered my the earth.

"Last day of 6th grade again"... wow, that's the perfect way of describing how I felt when the first movie came out. Expectations are now impossibly high.

Awesome

I always thought if another Jurassic Park movie was made, bring it back to where it all started, Isla Nublar. In the books I believe the island was pretty much destroyed by the Costa Rican government (they also hint at that in a deleted scene for the Lost World: Jurassic Park), but it seems the movies could ignore that. I just hope the movie is awesome.

Yes, Site A! I really hope this doesn't turn out feeling rushed. Very optimistic about JP IV.

Boom

Bring the kids back now as adults. Bring back others if they want. I wouldn't even mind seeing Moore or Vaughn back. Just no more Grant talking to Raptors or phones in dino stomachs/shit. 3rd movie was a joke.

Whoa, Nublar?

So we'll get to see what became of the Park! That offers some wicked nostalgia in a whole different way!

I think it's cool that independent directors are getting a chance to direct big budget block busters but I still don't know about this. I'll wait for a trailer. I hope he put Audrey plaza in it though!

Like It So Far

The original Jurassic Park was so influential during my youth and one of those few movies that has stood the test of time. It looks like Trevorrow is heading in the right direction. After seeing other films of my youth like Die Hard get shitty sequel after sequel I really hope this is something special. I also think Jake Johnson would make a great, smarmy young archeologist. And please bring back Jeff Goldblum, even if it's a pre island cameo!

SIckkk...

I hope it will be amazing. I know it will be. I want to be WOW again like I was when JP first came out. even the 2nd one was awesome. But the 3rd was a let down. I saw JP in 3D and I have to say that movie stands the test of time pretty fuckin well, and the 3D was amazing. I am hoping for some new dinos too, some good dino fights and just a really fun time :)

Going back to Isla Nublar

is a fantastic idea. I remember when Lost World came out everyone thought the scene with the raptors was from the first; people want Isla Nublar, lol. I couldn't begin to tell you what I want in JP4, but regardless, I'll see it. Just not talking/military dinosaurs. Back to original wonder, please.

Love Jurassic Park. It was a blast seeing it on the big screen since I wasn't born when it first came out.

I like the idea of the film going back to Isla Nublar. Now I'm just wondering how they get Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern's characters back on the island again.

Does he know that Isla Nublar was fire bombed (by the Costa Rican gov't if I'm not mistaken) after the "Incident"?

Don't they even mention it in Lost World?

I'm pretty sure it's not mentioned in Lost World, plus the movies are very different from the books. Most people I talk to don't even know that it's based off of a book.

No, I don't think so...I think. I do remember Hamond saying after the incident at Isla Nublar they evacuated it and made it an 'ecological preserve' though.

Oh look! The Michael Bay parade is here. (referring to all the positive comments)
You people are naive, and it's so sad that I'm drained of sympathy.
