Disney courts Michael K. Williams for key role in upcoming Han Solo spinoff

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Back in January, it was confirmed that Wooody Harrelson would be joining the cast of the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM, alongside co-stars Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover for the Chirstopher Miller and Phil Lord space smuggler's solo adventure. Today, we're getting word that the House of Mouse is eyeing up THE WIRE actor Michael K. Williams to star in the film.

Just like the plot synopsis for the film, details about Williams' character are unknown at this time.

What we do know is that the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS project will take place before the events of the original movie "A New Hope" (a-duh). I'll say this though, if its success is anything like that of the first STAR WARS spinoff, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, Disney and Lucas Arts will need to construct a Scrooge McDuck-like money bin to house all of the coin it rakes in.

In the interim, you can catch Williams as Freddy Knight in HBO's THE NIGHT OF, or the ABC series WHEN WE RISE which premiered earlier this week
