Disney to unveil first Tomorrowland footage at New York Comic Con in October

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It has been a while since we heard anything substantial about Brad Bird‘s TOMORROWLAND. Starring George Clooney and Hugh Laurie, you would expect there to be more buzz around the film. But, when it got bumped from this Christmas to next summer, all the buzz got delayed with it. But, it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer for some news on the project.

While San Diego Comic Con was squarely focused on Marvel projects like AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and ANT-MAN, Disney will be giving TOMORROWLAND a showcase and next month’s New York Comic Con. Brad Bird, screenwriter Damon Lindelof, and special guests will be on hand to share an exclusive look at the film. Whether this takes the form of a teaser or scenes from the film remains to be seen, but anything about this film will be exciting to see at this point. The TOMORROWLAND panel will take place October 9th, so stay tuned for details as they become available.

In case you forgot:

Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.

TOMORROWLAND will debut in theaters in IMAX, the first Disney film to be presented in the format but not in 3D since THE LION KING in 2002. The film stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson. It will hit theaters on May 22, 2015.
