Disney unveils sweet character posters for Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Not long ago, Walt Disney Studios shared a collection of eye-popping new character posters for their upcoming live-action family fantasy adventure THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS. Elaborately colored, sugar-coated with personality, and promising to give audience members a version of the two-act ballet unlike the world has ever seen before, these images are a feast for the senses that have my sweet tooth craving the film's November 2 release date.

Starring Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Eugenio Derbez, Matthew Macfadyen, Richard E. Grant, Misty Copeland, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman, THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS is helmed by dual-directors Lasse Hallström (THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, CHOCOLATE) and Joe Johnston (THE ROCKETEER, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER). When Disney's re-imagined version of the ballet originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky arrives, it will present the tale of a young girl named Clara, who is transported into a magical world of gingerbread soldiers and an army of mice. As she navigates a strange new world filled with countless wonders, Clara will find herself in need of making new friends if she's to save the wondrous locale from an encroaching evil that aims to bring a bitter end to the enchanted candy-coated kingdom.

You can take a look at the bold, new character posters for THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS below:

Mackenzie Foy as Clara

Keira Knightley as Sugar Plum Fairy

Helen Mirren as Mother Ginger

Misty Copeland as The Ballerina

Morgan Freeman as Drosselmeyer

Eugenio Derbex as Flower Realm King

Jack Whitehall as Harlequin

Jayden Fowora-Knight as Philip

Richard E. Grant as Snow Realm King

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

Young Clara needs a magical, one-of-a-kind key to unlock a box that contains a priceless gift. A golden thread leads her to the coveted key, but it soon disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. In that world, she meets a soldier named Phillip, a group of mice and the regents who preside over three realms. Clara and Phillip must now enter a fourth realm to retrieve the key and restore harmony to the unstable land.

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS will hope to bring a smile to fantasy fans of all ages when it comes to theaters on November 2nd.
