Does this first full look at an upcoming villain for Arrow stroke you the right way?

Teased rather fantastically several months back (in what was technically a screen shot from the premiere episode), a complete first full-on look at an upcoming villain for The CW's "Arrow" has been revealed in advance of the character's appearance on Episode 5 (titled DAMAGED).

It goes without saying that there are a few spoilers here if you want to be completely surprised by who the character is or the take elected by The CW, so tread warily if you're dead-set on maintaining the momentum of the show's mystery.  You ready? You still here? You still want the look?

Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke the Terminator, was introduced in The New Teen Titans back in 1980.  He swiftly became so popular that he received his comic in 1991 which, though cancelled within sixty issues, nonetheless proves that right from the start this villain struck a chord of interest in DC's audience.  A soldier who was forged in the terrible napalm fires of Vietnam, both in terms of morals and skills, Deathstroke was the recipient of special powers due to army experimentation.  Now while I've never read any comics involving Deathstroke, I did watch the show "Teen Titans" growing up - and let me tell you, Deathstroke (just called Slade there) was one fearsome foe indeed.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing just what the creators of "Arrow" are going to do with him.

Add on that note, here's that first full look at the guy that I've been touting:

Deathstroke first look

They're sticking very close to the comics on this one - what do you think? And furthermore, what do you think about the show "Arrow" as a whole?

Extra Tidbit: Slade was voiced by Ron Perlman in the show. Also, Deathstroke bore the title of "The Terminator" well before Cameron and Schwarzenegger came along.

I love the character. I haven't given the show a chance

is it ACTUALLY that good? Because I love Deathstroke as a character and this will get me to watch. If they make him an idiot I'll never watch again lol

Sure it might not be a movie-quality costume, but it's an iconic DC character come to life on TV in a look that's a great interpretation of his comics outfit. I hope Arrow shapes up to be a solid TV show and lasts through the season and longer.

He looks good;especially for a TV show adaption. I love that they're not pussy-footing around things like this like Smallville did (if Deathstroke showed up there, he'd be an Abercrombie & Fitch model with no costume). I thought the pilot was good, but how comic-booky the show will be is still unclear (as far as super powers and what not go). I know Deathstroke isn't the only comic villain they plan on having so the only thing that worries me is having any of them be throw away "baddies of the

I'd love to see ongoing arcs with some of the villains they're talking about.

I caught the first episdoe last week and I was suprised to see how good it was. They got alot of things right and wrong but the wrong things I can forgive. Ive read this season is going to have, besides Deathstroke, Deadshot, Huntress, and White China. The show is interesting so far so I'm hoping it stays that way.

Deathstroke is technically too big a villain for the Arrow. Deathstroke has singlehandedly taken down most of the JLA at once before. He is a true bad-ass. Not too familiar with the character, but I think his "power" is the ability to anticipate one's attack and effectively use it against them or something like that.

In some ways it's kinda promising that they're using a proper DC character for a villain, rather than the usual tv route of inventing their own. Arrow looks promising, judging by the tv spots I've seen, so I'll definitely give it a chance.

Maybe it's the lighting but Deathstroke looks like a cross between Yellow Bastard of Sin City and Spawn.
