Dragon's Lair returns!

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with the "Dragon's Lair" arcade game. I was already a big Don Bluth fan from his work on THE SECRET OF NIMH and others and the ability to control a fully realized character was amazing to me ("Lair" was one of the first "laserdisc games," which essentially allowed you to load different scenes based on your joystick/button actions). The only problem was that at the time it cost a ridiculous amount of money to play. It's the first game I remember costing $1.00 in quarters to play. And the gameplay wasn't exactly hot stuff and a glitch could kill you and waste your buck. Lucky for us 80s arcade nerds, "Dragon's Lair" is coming back. Digital Leisure is re-releasing "Dragon's Lair" for PlayStation3 and/or Blu-Ray players in full 1080p HD. Wowsers. "Lair" will be the first game to be released for Blu-Ray. Bluth said of his creation, "It looks even better than I can remember. The visuals, the 5.1 surround sound audio, all I can say is ‘Wow!’ Now a whole new generation can enjoy 'Dragon’s Lair' all over again." Digital Leisure plans to follow up "Lair" with other Bluth arcade games "Space Ace" and "Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp." Bluth is apparently working on trying to get a film version of DRAGON'S LAIR off the ground but after the disaster that was TITAN AE, he's having some difficulty. I say, Bring back Dirk!

Extra Tidbit: "Dragon's Lair" can be completed in 15 minutes if you know all the timing and moves.
