Drink the Kool-Aid and watch the new international trailer for Wall Street 2

02.18.2010

We were teased before, but now the new international trailer for WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS is showing us all the goods.

Let me begin by saying, welcome back Michael Douglas. Not that he ever went away, it's just that in this new trailer the man seems to be back full force. Shia LaBeouf looks like he might fit right in as well.

Honestly, I'm not really concerned on whether the subject matter is relevant or not. It's simply to me just pure fun and entertainment. The last Oliver Stone film I checked out was W, which didn't really do anything for me, and at times the characters were just laughable (Thandie Newton, I'm talking about you). I'm thinking that WALL STREET 2 might be pretty good.

Looks much better than I am willing to admit, but Casey and Shia are kinda runing it for me. I'll still see it for Douglas. Loyalty may kill me.

Looks great. Now if they would bring back kurt russell as Plisken, all would be well.

hahaha I'm sorry. I get surprised that anyone remembers it. It came out the year I was born. My Mom watched it, so naturally I did as well.

Yeah, we had it on vhs when I was a kid xD Watched it about as often as 'Raiders'... and The Man With the Golden Gun, for some reason! Guess it was always on UK TV in the 80s...

I liked the teaser better with less talking from Shia. And the girl already annoys me. But I'm still looking forward to this...

Way better than the teaser, IMO. Glad they dropped that crap song from earlier and went with the Stones.

Looks better than I thought it would, better than it should, but so unnecessary.

Honestly, it looks so much better than I thought it would. I think LaBeouf is a good casting choice. It'll give him a shot to prove once again he can act. Add in Carey Mulligan, The Brolin, and Frank Langella and I think this could be a pretty kick ass sequel.

INSPIRING

As long as Stone has stopped using his shaky, heavily filtered shots am in. This film certainly looks very promising. Douglas has been taking it to easy lately. I miss his Black Rain and Falling Down roles.

I've been watching Romancing the Stone since I was 9 and I still enjoy it. It's got a nostalgic quality for me.

I'm still on the fence with this Wall Street sequel, though. I have faith in Douglas, but La Bouf annoys me and Stone just isn't the director he once was. I'm holding out for a trailer that actually explains a bit of the plot before I decide whether I'm on board.

I'm on board.

Nothing against Josh Brolin, I really do appreciate the guy, everything from Mimic to Llewelyn Moss. Granted we didn't see much of him in this trailer, but I really wish they kept Javier Bardem on board for this role.

I don't understand why everyone is bashing this trailer. It's a tad "light hearted" but this shit looks pretty damn good. Looks like it's more about Geko than Shia's character which is great to see too. Can't fucking wait!!!! Great song too. Also love how Brolin and Langela are still kept secret.

Liked the Teaser

But this didn't elaborate much, intrigue wise. It actaully made the movie look pretty boring - I kept seeing the same crap round and round. Shouldn't this movie be tapping more than what it appears to be?

Lovin the Douglas (Romancing the Stone didn't really hold up, but was great when I was a kid), but the first one didn't do much for me; this doesn't really thrill me either.

i guess if stone had maintained relevant these past years instead of continuing to waste his talent by making himself a director for hire id be more willing and intrigued by the concept, but then you add in the shia factor and the daughter that was not a factor in the first film and well i just get pissed off even more at stone - such a talent gone to waste due to greed and/or ego

Yeah I'll pass. Oliver Stone does nothing for me, so I doubt a sequel to a pretty overrated movie will entice me.

tidbit

My grandmother once convinced me I'd love when I was sick at her house once...

At the time, I thought it was terrible idea, but I feel like I should give it another shot.

Movie looks great can't wait...as for the trailer I do think they give too much of the plot away, but that seems typical nowadays.

Extra Tidbit.....Not so much...I'm more of a War Of The Roses fan.
