Dwight Yoakam, Helena Bonham Carter and Barry Pepper are currently in talks to join Johnny Depp in Disney’s THE LONE RANGER.

Gore Verbinski will be helming the film which takes a slightly different turn with Tonto (Depp) taking on more of the lead as the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) is left for dead in this story.

Here are the details on their roles: “If a deal makes, Carter will play the madam of a brothel who deals with gentlemen and scoundrels. Yoakam, currently shooting Billy Bob Thornton’s Jayne Mansfield’s Car, will play Butch Cavendish, leader of the gang that attacks the ranger and leaves his for dead. Pepper, Emmy-nominated for his turn as Bobby Kennedy in The Kennedys, will act as a military officer.”

Tom Wilkinson signed on already to star as a railroad tycoon with dubious intentions.

Production will start mid-October in Texas and New Mexico.
