Eclipse getting reshoots with one of the previous Twilight directors instead of David Slade?

Let’s face it. The TWILIGHT saga is not known for avant-garde filmmaking.

However, some may say that hiring David Slade to direct the third film in the series, ECLIPSE was the best idea for the saga thus far.

Apparently Summit doesn’t like when good ideas and TWILIGHT come together. It’s being said that the studio is very quietly assembling the cast and crew for some reshoots in Vancouver–without David Slade.

There’s talk that Slade and Summit may not be on the greatest of terms, even though back in January he addressed this issue on his Twitter account saying, “Bah paranoid people, the good people at Summit and I get on great. I just don’t know when the trailer will be released.” But that was back in January, so there’s been a decent amount of time for things to turn sour.

Due to those creative differences, one of the previous directors, Catherine Hardwicke or Chris Weitz may be the one doing the reshoots for several “key” scenes. That opportunity may go to Hardwicke who is already in Vancouver shooting THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD with Amanda Seyfried. Also, Hardwicke is supposedly looking for studio space to do the reshoots in as well. Whoever does the reshoots will have to work around Robert Pattinson’s schedule since he is currently filming BEL AMI in England.

This is most likely some story to add extra publicity for the film. Slade will probably come back and finish up his film. He’s a pretty blunt guy and I have a feeling if there were some problems he’d would have addressed them via his Twitter.
