Ed Harris will play John McCain opposite Julianne Moore’s Sarah Palin in HBO’s Game Change

I decided not to use an image of grizzled actor Ed Harris (THE WAY BACK, THE ROCK) because we all pretty much know what he looks like and we know he’s visually more or less in the same ballpark as former presidential candidate John McCain. Instead, I’m using the infamous image above of the Arizona Republican senator to pose the question: Can Ed Harris be this f*cking terrifying?

Harris joins the lovely Julianne Moore (ANOTHER BULLSHIT NIGHT IN SUCK CITY, CHLOE) who will be playing the good-looking but utterly retarded former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin. “Game Change” is an HBO adaptation of the book by authors John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. As reported previously, the project will tell “the defining story of a new era in American politics, going deeper behind the scenes of the Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin campaigns than any other account of the historic 2008 election.” Jay Roach (LITTLE FOCKERS, “Recount”) will direct from a script by actor and sometimes writer Danny Strong (“Recount”).

Harris most recently did Peter Weir’s very good THE WAY BACK as well as WHAT’S WRONG WITH VIRGINIA? opposite Emma Roberts and Jennifer Connelly. He’ll next be seen in the comedy THAT’S WHAT I AM and then next year in MAN ON A LEDGE alongside Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, and Sam Worthington.
