Do you miss the genuinely funny Eddie Murphy? The charismatic kid from 48 hrs.? The quotable standup Eddie from RAW and DELIRIOUS? The casually amiable Eddie of BEVERLY HILLS COP? Even the self-mocking Eddie of BOWFINGER?

Doesn't sound like you'll see him again anytime soon. His latest project is a Paramount buddy comedy called THE MISADVENTURES OF FLUFFY.

The movie is described as "a road trip pic through New York featuring talking animals, and with an element of social comedy reminiscent of TRADING PLACES." So... it's mixing one of Eddie's best movies with a whole bunch of his shitty ones?

One potential upside: it's being pushed as an R-rated comedy. Then again, Murphy is currently only attached to produce, and may instead star in that FANTASY ISLAND movie he's been considering. Oh, Eddie...

is wrong with him!? Has he lost his mind or does he just not give a shit anymore? Maybe both. I do miss the funny Eddie, and I wish someone would slap some sense into him.

Make Eddie one of the new Ghostbusters. He was suppose to be one of the original ones so why not put him in the 3rd. This would help bring him back somewhat I believe.

With this latest news, it just hit me that maybe The Murph is onto something here. Maybe 30 years from now we'll all be looking back on his string of quirky comedic masterpieces that arrived at the height of his commercial (The Nutty Professor movies) and critical (Dreamgirls) success. He's got to be onto something.

I still find Eddie funny but his films suck,can someone out there put him in a decent movie.That also goes for Adam Sandler,Robin Williams and Jack Black.

I don't think "Coming to America" is his last funny film. I thought "Life" was really funny with a lot of memorable quotes. No doubt, "Coming to America" was a lot edgier.

Eddie should do "The Coz" a film about the life of Bill Cosby-with alot of laughs rather than tears through out. BTW-talk about a good Cosby impersonation (though I hate to plug it-no pun intended!) the XXX "Not The Cosby Show!" courtesy of Hustler Video-Thomas Ward as Cliff F**kstable is a right on the button impression! from the trailers I've saw. Eddie would probably be good in the role of...
