agents-of-shield-marvel-banner While Agent Carter is now in full swing (check out our review of the first episodes here), Marvel hasn't forgotten Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The show is currently on hiatus, with the latter half of season 2 returning in March. When it does return, it will also return with a heavy hitter. Adama himself, Edward James Olmos, will join the cast as Robert Gonzales, who evidently will change things up in a big way for Agent Coulson and his team.

Executive producer Jeph Loeb had this to say:

Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales. When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice–including our favorite Agents.

Olmos has cemented himself in the annals of sci-fi history with his roles in BLADE RUNNER and the infamous Battlestar Galactica. Loeb isn't messing around when he says Olmos brings gravitas to any role he inhabits, as he could do a dramatic reading of the telephone book and I'd still be enthralled. This new addition will add some serious credibility to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and ensure that some butts will be planted in seats come the show’s return in March.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return to televisions on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
