Eliza Dushku and Chayce Crawford enter an asylum in Eloise

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

Eliza Dushku, Chayce Crawford, PJ Byrne and Brandon T. Jackson have all joined the cast of ELOISE, an asylum-set thriller from director Robert Legato (visual effects artist on AVATAR and TITANIC).

What’s intriguing about this one is that they’re shooting in a real-deal abandoned insane asylum: Eloise Asylum in Michigan. (Check out the aerial shot above.) The place has been closed since the 80s, with some buildings being renovated but others still standing in ruins. And, of course, the place is rumored to be haunted…

Here’s the plot:

Four friends break into the abandoned institution in hopes of finding a death certificate, which will provide Jacob (Crawford) with the rights to a sizable inheritance. While inside the asylum, the group not only finds that the institution houses a horrifying history but also the truth about their own tragic pasts. They’re shooting in the Eloise Insane Asylum which was one of the largest mental institutions in the world.

WME Global will sell North American rights and Hyde Park International will shop the offshore rights at Cannes next month.
