Emily Blunt joins Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon Levitt in Looper

LOOPER is a trippy time-travel project that will reunite filmmaker Rian Johnson with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the star of his excellent high school noir BRICK.

The project also stars Bruce Willis, but that's all somehow just not cool enough, so now it will also feature the divine presence of Emily Blunt.

The story as I understand it (and I very well may not) involves present-day "cleaners" who are delivered criminals from a syndicate in the future and must dispose of the bodies so the "evidence" never exists. Earlier reports stated that Willis would be playing the future version of JGL sent back to himself, which would obviously lead to some complications.

Johnson previously described the project as "very character-based" and compared it to both THE TERMINATOR and WITNESS. Filming is expected to begin early next year. Johnson has a very cryptic blog for the project already up RIGHT HERE.

Extra Tidbit: Blunt will next be seen in GULLIVER'S TRAVELS, which is what (contractually) prevented her from playing Black Widow in IRON MAN 2 (and, subsequently, THE AVENGERS and a BLACK WIDOW solo movie).
