Emma Stone gives a preview of her Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Man reboot

Dec. 6, 2010by:

Not much actual news here, but newly Marvelized actress Emma Stone hit the town recently (these snaps came from Just Jared), sporting a look that's likely similar to what we'll see when she appears as Peter Parker's love interest Gwen Stacy in the reboot of SPIDER-MAN.

The webhead's new adventure begins filming shortly, and the typically redheaded cutie has returned to her (allegedly) natural blond hair (evidence desired) for the role. Think she fits the part?

In case you forgot, director Marc Webb and Sony's 3D relaunch also stars Andrew Garfield (THE SOCIAL NETWORK), Martin Sheen, Rhys Ifans, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson, Irrfan Khan and Annie Parisse.

Extra Tidbit: Sure, there might be other hotties who could have been a fine Gwen (like, say, Amber Heard), but Stone is still 1000% better than a certain lazy-lidded actress from the Raimi trilogy...

I'll admit she looks the part and I like Webb, Stone, and Leary, but this reboot can go fuck itself.

This quality of this movie will come nowhere close to the original trilogy.

Not sure about Webb, but I'll agree with you on Stone and Leary. Garfield seems alright, but this movie is strictly a $1 rental from Redbox until they prove I'm not an ass for already hating it.

BTW, who's Leary playing???

I don't want to agree with Terminal_83 but the fact is that Spiderman 2 was the best of the three. I'm not saying the other two were crap but Spiderman movies could be like Star Trek movies and the evn numbered ones are better (until Nemesis).

i agree, it's too soon, what worked about rebooting the Batman franchise, was the amount of time between the films.

Yep it will be better! The original trilogy is shit, while part two was okay. This reboot will blow it out of the sky.

This picture makes me giddy. She looks great as Gwen and it only makes me happier for the much needed reboot. Groan all you want, it's happening, and you'll go see it just to have the chance to bash it. Can't fucking wait.

coming from the guy who thought "The Happening" was a GOOD movie. You sure are one to have interest/like shitty movies, but criticize everything else that has quality to it.

I really hope this isnt the beginning of a trend where the "body" of the previous franchise isnt even cold yet

My concern isn't so much about her playing Gwen Stacy. She looks the part and I really dig her as an actress.
Where my concern is that she might decide to keep her hair blonde once the movie is over. Seeing those pics has made her lose most of her appeal to me. I realize I may be in the minority, but I just don't like blonde hair.

I respect Kirsten Dunst

because of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Emma Stone looks like she's going to be a great Gwen. Nowww I'm off to watch Zombieland.

i am not

liking these choice of actors except Andrew Garfield. He will be good. But I can't imagine any of this happening. I can't wait to see a trailer.. and lizard being the first villain will be tough to pull off. Lets see how it does !

I think they've said that Lizard won't be the villain in this one. It was the last article on this site about this movie. I'm guessing, like Raimi, they'll set him up for the sequel.

Here we go again. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE REBOOT PEOPLE. The facts are (whether anyone wants to admit it or not), that the original Spider-Man films were NOT going in the right direction. Yes, the first two were good films. But the truth is Maguire wasn't a great Spider-Man, Dunst wasn't a great Mary-Jane, and the third movie was WAY below what the first two had built up. Clearly Raimi and the studio weren't on the same page, and clearly everyone at the studio wanted to try and make it

Clearly Raimi and the studio weren't on the same page, and clearly everyone at the studio wanted to try and make it BETTER. Since when is that a bad thing? They're not rebooting Batman or Lord of the Rings, they're rebooting a franchise that was really seemed to lose most of its steam, except to the hardcore fans that are defending it now.

Anyways, Emma Stone looks great. Garfield imo is a THOUSAND times better choice for Parker, and I'm really interested to see Marc Webb direct this type of film. I can't wait.

I think most people know my views on this film by now :). The pictures look good and I'm very excited for this thing.

I think Emma is probably the best choice for Gwen. She has that "girl next door" quality that doesn't really come to mind with an actress like Amber Heard.

I don't know. Somehow I don't think I'd be able to get my geek crush on with Amber Heard knowing full well she'd rather do chicks. Emma Stone looks perfect!

Emma Stone looks amazing...

but can we just have her do an MJ spin-off instead. I could care less of how it goes (presumably like a better Lois and Clark) just as long as she's the hot redhead with a heart of gold.
