Since Independence Day falls on a Wednesday this year, the networks are having a tough time deciding which weekend to air their annual programming marathons. Luckily, cable network Encore has decided to kick off the month with a marathon and then continue it throughout July.

Encore will spend July 1st by airing The Bond Collection, comprising eleven Bond films featuring Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan. Here's the schedule (all times Eastern):

7:00am DR. NO

9:00am A VIEW TO A KILL

11:20am THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

1:35pm THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS

3:50pm THUNDERBALL

6:05pm GOLDFINGER

8:00pm TOMORROW NEVER DIES

10:00pm LIVE AND LET DIE

12:05am FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

2:15am YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE

4:15am NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

Unfortunately, no Daniel Craig films in the mix, but you get a good collection going. If you don't have a full day to spend watching 007 flicks, Encore will also be airing one of 19 Bond films each night for the entire month. Here is the schedule for The Bond Collection. Each movie begins at 8pm EST.

July 1/23 TOMORROW NEVER DIES

July 2/22 GOLDENEYE

July 3 LICENSE TO KILL

July 4/14 THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

July 5/24 DR. NO

July 6/19 FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

July 7/31 GOLDFINGER

July 8/25 THUNDERBALL

July 9/27 YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE

July 10 ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE

July 11/29 DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

July 12/28 LIVE AND LET DIE

July 13 THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

July 15/26 FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

July 16 MOONRAKER

July 17 NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

July 18 OCTOPUSSY

July 20 THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS

July 21/30 A VIEW TO A KILL

Between this, the Danny Boyle directed Bond opener for the 2012 London Olympics, and SKYFALL at the end of the year, this truly is the Year of Bond.

Extra Tidbit: What a week! Bond marathon to start the week, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN in the middle, and a WALKING DEAD marathon to wrap it up!

Personal Top 5 Bond Movies
1. From Russia With Love
2. Goldfinger
3. Casino Royale
4. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
5. Goldeneye

Bottom Five
5. Thunderball (something about this one I just fucking hate)
4. The World Is Not Enough
3. Diamonds Are Forever
2. Live And Let Die (rivals 'Birth of a Nation' as the most racist movie ever made)
1. Die Another Day

I've never actually subjected myself to Moonraker or Never Say Never Again so here's my chance I guess.

Favourite Bonds:
From Russia With Love
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (best soundtrack too)
For Your Eyes Only
Casino Royale
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Living Daylights
Golden Eye

Least Favourite:
All Pierce Brosnans after Golden Eye
Most of Roger Moores, notably Moonraker
Thunderball
and I dont even consider Never Say Never Again as part of the Bond collection, as, well, it isnt.
I watched it once and its worse than Thunderball.
I met Kevin McClory once and he openly spoke about

I met Kevin McClory once and he openly spoke about Thunderball/NSNA and his battles with EON Productions and Ian Fleming. Fascinating stuff.

Bond-a-thon!

Some friends and I did a Bond-a-thon where we watched all 25 bond adaptions in a row. Including the made for TV Casino Royale from the 60s. It ended up taking us about 54 hours straight. We made a time-lapse of the event as a way to remember the experience. By the end I'd say my favorite movies were Goldfinger, Casino Royale (Craig) and For Your Eyes Only. Check out our time-lapse!

That picture

You could sell that shit for lots of moolah. Who would win in that game? I'd guess Sean Bond.
