The Japanese voice-over-ed trailer for the upcoming video game based STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI surfaced about a week ago and if you weren't happy with the Japanese stylings of Mr. Voice Over Guy then IGN has debuted the English language domestic trailer. It's basically the same thing with maybe a few new snippets added here and there. In the film, Kristin Kreuk plays the titular martial arts expert who goes up against bad guy Bison (Neal McDonough) because he's a total douche. Then she does a lotta wire-fu stuff. She does all this February 27th. Click through to check out…the legend come to life!

Extra Tidbit: If this bombs big time, how much will it affect the Justin Marks (who wrote THE LEGEND OF CHUN LI) scripted Green Arrow flick SUPER MAX? Will that be it for the Green Arrow? Or for Marks?

In all likelihood, this flick is gonna suck. HOWEVER, while I was watching it, I was thinking about how none of the characters have the campy costumes that they did from the video games, or for that matter, the original movie. Bison is the most obvious one, given that he's totally devoid of...

Bison is the most obvious one, given that he's totally devoid of the red officer's uniform.
But, it made me think of the original X-Men flick, and how initially everybody went apeshit over the absence of yellow spandex... And look how that turned out.
I understand that this movie will probably still be really, really, really bad... But maybe it won't be quite as terrible as we all expected.

I doubt the final result is the writer's fault at all. I blame the studio for putting a movie based on a 2D fighting video games into the hands of a 58 year-old man.

Kristin Kreuk is lovely, and I know genetically she's half-Chinese, but apparently all that went towards was her eye and hair color. She doesn't look the least bit Asian. When the movie is ABOUT Chun-Li you'd think they'd at least focus on nailing the look of the title character....

And I don't even know where to begin with their choice for Vega. The Black Eyed Peas? Really? And just because Michael Clark Duncan is black and ripped doesn't make him a good Balrog. He looks like a wrestler more than he looks like a boxer. With M Bison it's like they didn't even look at a picture of the character.
Dare I say it, this is even more poorly cast than the 1994 movie and I didn't even think that was possible.
