ET DVD coming in Oct

Despite the failure of E.T.'s 20th anniversary theatrical re-release, Universal is hoping fans will turn out for a super-duper Special Limited Edition DVD version of the film to be released on October 22.  The two-disc set will only be available (at a retail price of $22.95) for ten weeks before it is pulled from shelves and placed on an indefinite moratorium.  The DVD will feature over 10 hours of extras including an original featurette documenting the production of the film, its original release and the re-release.  Also included will be an isolated score track plus a video feature that will allow you to watch composer John Williams conducting the orchestra at the re-release premiere.

Hopefully the DVD will sell better than these E.T. trading cards
