Evan Peters reveals what Quicksilver will be up to in X-Men: Apocalypse

Prior to the release of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, I honestly wasn't expecting Evan Peters to come out on top of the dueling Quicksilver's, but damn if he didn't make the most of his short amount of screen-time. Peters will be returning as Quicksilver in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and he spoke with Details about what his character will be up to during the Apocalypse:

The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.

Those of you who are familiar with Quicksilver's parentage from the comics will likely be able to guess who his father could be, as well as how it may affect X-MEN: APOCALYPSE by keeping father and son on opposite sides of the battle. Evan Peters was also asked if the upcoming film would be the greatest X-MEN film yet; "Absolutely," he responded. "It's the biggest X-Men film. It's about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge." We'll hopefully be getting a look at the film sooner rather than later, as Bryan Singer posted on Instagram today that a teaser would be "coming soon".

Synopsis for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

Oh, and news flash. In Marvel Comics the Maximoff siblings are not even mutants nor Magneto's children anymore. So is Squirrel Girl, for whatever reason. I guess Marvel is playing it safe with their movie rights, and... I guess there may be some plans for Squirrel Girl in the future of MCU?

The MCU Quicksilver was a substantially more faithful rendition of Pieteo Maximoff, but Fox undoubtedly gave their Quicksilver a helluva memorable movie scene. So I guess Fox actually won this one. I like that they're planning on looking into 'Peter's' relationship with his father, hopefully Quicksilver can become as interesting of a character as he is fun to watch.

Hopefully he'll be in the film for more than one scene and his slow motion scene in DOFP is easily one of the greatest scenes ever in a comic book film. Excited to see if Singer can top it for Apocalypse.

Evan Peters wearing those goggles remind me of Sam Guthrie AKA Cannonball. I would love to see Cannonball in an X-Force movie.

A New Mutants movie with Cannonball was announced back in May for July 13th, 2018 release. [link] There's no guarantee that Cannonball will be in the movie when it comes out though. The character was considered for Deadpool but they used Negasonic Teenage Warhead instead. [link]

He DID appear in the FIRST film of the X-MEN franchise.
He was among the students in Prof X's office when Wolvie went in, at the beginning of the film...
