EW's Civil War cover provides new looks at Cap, Iron Man & Black Panther

12.02.2015

Captain America: Civil War Anthony Russo Joe Russo Chris Evans Robert Downey Jr. Banner

With the first CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR trailer debuting last week, it should come as no surprise that Captain America, Iron Man and Black Panther are featured on the cover for the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The new issue (which hits newsstands on Friday) will take you behind the scenes of the airport clash between Chris Evans' Cap and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, as well as explore Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther.

Take a look:

In an interview with EW, Evans said “In most of the movies, there’s no question who we should be siding with. We all agree Nazis are bad, aliens from space are bad. But this movie’s the first time where you really have two points of view. It becomes a question of morality and I don’t think [Cap] has ever been so uncertain with what right and wrong is.” What was your favorite moment from the first trailer?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR will be in theaters on May 6, 2016.

That's what happens when entertainment writers think they're funny.

why can't they just shoot the actors together? They always look like they don't belong in the same environment.

a couple reasons but mostly money. it's much cheaper to shoot them individually than to fly all of them in to the same place at the same time. also, individual pictures are easier to reuse and recombine for whatever they're making. finally, it makes it easier for the 6' chris evans and the 5'9" RDJ to be eye level.

well, they were all in the same place at the same time while filming, right? But I get the point on the other reasons.

I hate EW covers...

Hey look, it's the Age of Ultron cover without Ultron. Cap and Tony look like they're in the exact same pose/expression

Can't wait to see the fight scenes with Black Panther and just how strong the MCU is going to make him compared to Captain, Winter Solder, Thor, etc.

And it's too bad we're just getting one cover. It would be nice to get multiple covers with each members of each team on the cover like they did with Age of Ultron.

rematche, is he? I would thought Iron Man is the Batman of Marvel. Rich playboy with lots of expensive toys to fight crime. Black Panther is a king of an African tribe that fights crime on an international level. I don't see the comparison to Batman.

After watching Daredevil I thought he was the closest thing to Marvels Batman.
I guess they just took DC's concept and kept recreating it over and over.

Marty is correct, Moon Knight was intended to be Marvel's version of Batman. Several interviews over the years have alluded to that from the creators. However they took the billionaire powerless vigilante, and changed it a little. Batman wore all black to hide and sneak about. Conversely the creators of Moon Knight purposely had him wear all white because he was so crazy he wanted the bad guys to see him coming at them to inspire fear. He also happen to be certifiably insane, schizophrenic
