Safe to say that David O. Russell has been on a hot streak lately. With THE FIGHTER and SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK both receiving Best Picture nominations (and winning three statues combined), Russell has cemented himself as one of film’s premiere directors. His latest, AMERICAN HUSTLE, is almost guaranteed to join those others as a critical and commercial hit, with plenty of awards in the offing.

Russell is also a very talkative fellow, so he did most of the work for me here, were we discuss his assembling of the David O. Russell All-Star team of thespians, his love of writing specific scenes for his actors and the pride he takes when his actors win all those fancy trophies.
