James Wan is a busy man as of late. Not only does the director have that little movie about cars coming out you know FAST & FURIOUS 7, but this summer he is haunting audiences with two very different ghost stories. The first, THE CONJURING (INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 will be hitting theatres in September 13th) is reportedly based on a true story, one which was examined by one of the most formidable paranormal investigators the world over, Lorraine Warren. This particular haunting she and her late husband Ed Warren took on is the subject of Wans latest feature.

While it is always terrific to sit and chat with James Wan, I have to say that meeting Lorraine Warren in person was an absolute thrill. Whether you believe in her tales or not, she is an incredibly sweet woman who has a fascinating history. From Amityville to this, she has a number of interesting things to say. We even discuss the creepy doll Annabelle. One version of this haunted item is explored in the new film and Ms. Warren discussed exactly where the doll is now Lets just say even a skeptic might think twice before hanging out in this particular room with all of these mysterious items. THE CONJURING opens this Friday at a theatre near you.

James Wan is so adorable.

This was a great interview. Very informative and interesting... seeing stuff from a real paranormal investigator's perspective? That's something I have never seen in a movie interview. :)

James Wan is so adorable. Isn't he only like 5 feet tall in real life, haha? I love his laugh, too!

I'll admit I'm a fanboy of James Wan, ever since SAW. Every movie since then I have loved, especially Death Sentence and Insidious. The Conjuring looks amazing too! James Wan's vision of modern

I'll admit I'm a fanboy of James Wan, ever since SAW. Every movie since then I have loved, especially Death Sentence and Insidious. The Conjuring looks amazing too! James Wan's vision of modern horror is so much more down-to-Earth than you would expect from the guy who co-created SAW, you know? I love his view on atmosphere and tension over visceral physical gore and CGI. It's really nice. :)

This movie is looking more and more amazing every time I read about it! I was smiling so much in the theater when I heard my sister and mom freaking out at the trailer for it, as well as all the other people in the theater. It's awesome to feel how James Wan is so damn good at crafting a horror film that he can spook the entire audience out of their minds, with not even a single drop of blood. It's great :D

I heard it's based on a true story, but I take that with a grain of salt. It seems nowadays you can say anything is based on a true story. I woke up yesterday and tripped on a wire. Ohp, better write a movie about the poltergeist that tried to strangle me while I was sleeping! Knowing James Wan, I would hope his "Based on a true story" is a little more accurate, though. He doesn't seem to be the kind of filmmaker that lets his films get marketed in the wrong way.

Is there an article on the "true story" this film is based on?

Anyways, great interview, and looking to be a great movie!
