Exclusive 1:1 Interview with The Family stars Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. Does it get much more intimidating than that? I’ve chatted with plenty of celebrities during my time at the site, but I doubt I’ve ever been faced with two such imposing acting legends paired together. It’s a good thing you can’t see me sweat. (I have make-up on.)

In Luc Besson‘s THE FAMILY, De Niro and Pfeiffer play Fred and Maggie Blake, the heads of an American mafia family hiding out in France and attempting to adjust to life in a foreign country. That’s difficult enough; attempting to act like normal, nonviolent people is even harder. Watch as I try my best not to shrink away from their combined star power and manage to ask them about their fairly nasty characters, building a bond with their fictional family, and whether or not they enjoy watching their own movies.
