This summer actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Adrien Brody and Angelina Jolie are all leads in action-based films. This is not necessarily a bad thing and each of those actors seem to work well within their respective films. BUT...if you've got a hankering for an action movie with a little bit more old-school testosterone, then we've got a treat for you.

THE EXPENDABLES is set to hit theaters with a blast of vintage action nostalgia on August 13th courtesy of director Sylvester Stallone and his all-star cast that includes Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin and many more (including cameos by Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Today we're pleased to bring you an exclusive new gallery of pics from THE EXPENDABLES. You get to see Stallone on both sides of the camera plus Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham doing something insane out of the nose of a fighter jet. Eat your heart out A-TEAM.

THIS AND THE A-TEAM THIS SUMMER
The little kid in me sittin to close to the TV back in the 80's is freakin out. If theirs a sequel I want to see Arnie in action and a Kurt Russel/Stallone Tango and Cash style reunion. Oh and judging by the photo I'm expecting a Stallone/Lundgren fight in the Finale "I must break you"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I'll go ahead and say it
I think it'll be a let down. I think aside from having Stallone and a few excellent cameos, it'll be like any other B grader with any of the other stars; not enough irony, style, or satisfaction. I adore my 80's action, btw. I just don't see this tapping that vein to any great degree.

This movie keeps getting more awesome by the minute!!

The only thing that could bring it's awesomeness a level up is if it had Jack Bauer in it...

The JCVD role...
Wasn't the JCVD role like a 1 line type thing? He basically laughed at stallone when he offered it to him. They should've had him in much larger role.

I feel bad for any movie opening along side this one. It's literally going to kick every other movie's ass due to it being so awesome. I know someone mentioned seeing the preview and people gasping, well when I saw it people actually cheered at the preview. I cannot wait. Premiere is going to be at Planet Hollywood in Vegas by the way for any hardcore fans who want to go.

Producer Avi Lerner had originally reported that the film will be cut down to two versions, a PG-13-rating edit and an R-rated version, both of which would be screen tested to see which one will be officially released. Lerner considered cutting down the violence because of the success of recent PG-13 action films.

The R rated cut was screen tested to resounding success. According to unit publicist Sheryl Main's Twitter, "One thing for sure the expendables is not pg-13!!!"

JCVD makes good choices
We all know he has accepted a role in the new Kung Fu Panda movie. JCVD makes awesome career choices! That's why he is stilla hot action star. Oh wait, he's not anymore. I still love JCVD, but I think his ego and pride get in the way.

I read an article about it in the magazine and they said they will release a PG-13 version then posible R-Rated on DVD. I hope they are wrong cos this was THE movie to see for 2010 for me.
