Exclusive: Check out four new character posters for The Expendables 3!
Hell yeah, who's ready for some more Expendables??
Today, we're debuting four new character posters from this summer's THE EXPENDABLES 3, the next entry in the classic action gods revivial franchise that tosses in all your favorite badasses from the last 30 years into one movie. Our poster roster includes Randy Couture as Toll Road, Dolph Lundgren as Gunnar Jensen, Kellan Lutz as Smilee, and Jason Statham as Lee Christmas. Taking a step away from your standard cool guy movie pose stereotypes, these "behind-the-scenes" style posters make for a cool, unconventional look at these old (and new) action stars.
Check 'em out!:
Here's the synopsis:
Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet.
Chock full of the old-school tropes of the genre, from creative kills, cheesy dialogue, awesome weaponry, and brutal fights, the franchise has been a lot of fun thus far and this new entry is bringing a whole lot more to the table. This time out they're bringing in action legends Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, and Wesley Snipes (as well as Kelsey Grammer and Robert Davi) who will join returning castmates Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture. In addition, there will be a new set of "young" Expendables in the mix, including Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz, and MMA fighter Ronda Rousey. This house is packed!
Tune in on Thursday for a special THE EXPENDABLES 3 roll call spot and come back in two weeks, on April 16th, for our set visit report from Bulgaria, where we'll discuss the footage we saw, the guns we played with, and what it's like to sit face-to-face with the majority of The Expendables (not nerve-wracking at all...) and director Patrick Hughes (RED HILL).
To see the rest of THE EXPENDABLES 3 posters that are dropping today, head to Collider for Harrison Ford/Terry Crews/Glen Powell/Jet Li, IGN for Sylvester Stallone/Mel Gibson/Victor Ortiz/Antonio Banderas, and ComingSoon for Arnold Schwarzenegger/Wesley Snipes/Ronda Rousey/Kelsey Grammer
THE EXPENDABLES 3 blasts into theaters on August 15, 2014.
