Exclusive Cool Video: Soundtrack tribute to Hans Zimmer's Gladiator score!

One of the most memorable aspects about Ridley Scott's GLADIATOR, outside the bloody battles, awesome speeches, and tremendous performances was the amazing score by Hans Zimmer and vocalist/musician Lisa Gerrard. Although Zimmer was already well-established as one of the best composers working in Hollywood at the time, GLADIATOR nudged him up even more and has since inspired a multitude of scores that have attempted to mimic the style of the now-classic soundtrack. In honor of the amazing work that both Zimmer and Gerard did for the film, our very own Kevin Blanchard (aka Droz) put together this compilation of cues and segments that depict the journey of Russell Crowe's Maximus Decimus Meridius in one of the best epic films ever made. So, kick back, close your eyes, and journey to the Coliseum, where the Spaniard is about to enter the ring...

After last year's MAN OF STEEL and 12 YEARS A SLAVE, Zimmer will next tackle THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 and Chistopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR.

Extra Tidbit: Although a box office flop, one of my all-time favorite Zimmer scores is for King Arther. Deserved to be in a better movie. Give it a listen if you're looking for an unknown great score.
