EXCLUSIVE: New Earthling trailer shows aliens among us

03.04.2010

A little while back, I brought you a teaser trailer for EARTHLING, a sci-fi flick headed to SXSW this year. I thought it had echoes of MOON (albeit with less Kevin Spacey) and now we're bringing you an exclusive new trailer from the film which has a lot more footage than anything we’ve seen previously.

The story follows a group of people who discover that they’re actually aliens embedded on earth. They find each other, and must decide what to do with themselves as a looming threat mounts. We get a bit more info in this new trailer, and a spiky seed pod-type artifact appears to be a major cause for concern among the Earthlings. It reminds me a bit of ABC’s V, albeit a lot grittier and with decidedly less Morena Baccarin and Laura Vandervoort (unfortunately).

The film stars Rebecca Spence (PUBLIC ENEMIES), William Katt (CARRIE), Matt Socia (GREENER) and Peter Greene (PULP FICTION) and makes its debut in two weeks at SXSW.

Extra Tidbit: I think I'm going to have nightmares about Peter Greene in this trailer.

i enjoyed it, i would want to see that movie. the only problem i have in it is personal choice ones
the man woman has about the same look on her face the whole time
and the sound could have been better mastered but on a small budget what can be expected

I enjoy the use of filters, and it uses off camera action.

A fan

I'm a fan of this young man's short film and the trailer's got some weird ass visuals. Looking forward to "peeping this" (as the kids say) at SXSW.

Honestly? It doesn't look half bad. I'd be more than willing to try it out.

You're being sarcastic right? You must be.

Intrigued

Usually, violent man on man love-making doesn't do it for me, although occasionally I've been known to stretch my boundaries after a pint of Old Crow. That being the case, I've had a mild fascination for Peter Greene since his most famous film appearance. He adds an air of edgy sociopathy that promises to make for memorable scenes and a film that haunts my nicotine-fueled nightmares.

Understated sapphic liasons FTW

I've seen Liford as well as Fischtic and he does amazing work. I have one word for you: LESBIANS. ok and maybe aliens. Who doesn't like lesbians and aliens, obviously talented actors, and an understated sci-fi theme? I'm down and will be seeing it at SXSW! W00t!!

Dig it!

Having seen Mr. Liford's previous film (the Sundance selection MY MOM SMOKES WEED), I can't wait to see this. It looks like a return to intellectual horror and that is something the genre needs. The actors, the music, the cinematography look top notch and I think that this will be a major film to keep in mind when it comes out.

So.. take the random stares from Twilight, loop the same music for the first minute and make it look like a day time soap and you have this trailer in a nutshell.

Horrible trailer

Regarding the article, did your cousin direct this flick or something? What's with your overwhelming support for such a mediocre-looking film.

And why would you have nightmares about Peter Green in this trailer? All he did was stand around and then deliver one line.

Oh, and please don't compare this garbage to Moon, Paul. This looks like low budget Sci-Fi schlock at best.

Yikes

I love sci-fi, and reading the article got me excited for this movie, and then the trailer is complete garbage... this movie looks unbelievably awful. It'll air on Sy-Fy before the year's end I'm sure.

It wouldn't look as bad if the two girls would shut up. Still, it's a poorly edited trailer but some of the visuals look interesting and Peter Greene is awesome.
