My biggest (and only) complaint is...

The way they just casually mention Kylo is their son... This should have been saved until the scene where Han dies. There was no impact of the reveal. It was basically glossed over.

I think the whole thing about hiding Khan's identity in Star Trek into Darkness left an impact here. Abrams tried so hard to keep it a secret that by the time it was revealed, no one cared. He see that as the biggest regret of that movie. I don't think he wants to do anymore secret identities.

Which is also why I dont think Rey is a Skywalker. They were so upfront with Kyle Ren's identity that the only reason to keep Rey's a secret is because none of the characters know. I doubt she would

I think it was clever, because, most people were already guessing it, almost even before the shooting began...
They probably thought 'let's put it behind us, right from the start, let's avoid people saying it was obvious and have this thought one of the last after they see the movie'.
