EXCLUSIVE: When will Sherlock Holmes hit DVD?

It looks like fans of Guy Ritchie’s hit SHERLOCK HOLMES reboot won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the DVD/ BLU-RAY, with it already slated for March 30th home video release. The news came to me courtesy of Warner Home Video, who made the announcement at their quarterly product showcase in Toronto last night.

Considering that the Robert Downey Jr/ Jude Law vehicle only hit theaters on Christmas Day, this seems like a very quick turnaround. While the street date could change, perhaps Warners is trying to get the jump on AVATAR’s inevitable home video release. While SHERLOCK was somewhat overshadowed by that juggernaut over the holidays, it’s still managed to gross over $300 Million worldwide after only three weeks in release, and is still playing to packed theaters nationwide.

Of course, as the studio has yet to issue on official press release, it’s possible that the title could be delayed, although other recent blockbusters, like TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, and G.I JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA have had similarly quick theatrical to home video windows.

Special features are still TBA.
