Ezra Miller reveals his hopes for his character in The Flash

11.16.2015

You've got to feel for actors who sign on to these huge roles which won't be seen for several years; everyone wants to ask questions but they can provide no answers. Ezra Miller signed on to play Barry Allen a.k.a The Flash in Warner Bros. THE FLASH over a year ago but has never been able to say anything totally concrete about his role in the film. Ezra Miller spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently and, while he wasn't able to spill any real details, revealed his hopes for Barry Allen in THE FLASH.

I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak. Wow, I just made such a pun, without meaning to!” he says, referring to The Flash’s parallel universe storyline in the comics. Miller continues: “I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero. I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic — or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person.

THE FLASH isn't set to be released until March 23, 2018, but it's very likely that Ezra Miller will first appear as the Flash in JUSTICE LEAGE - PART ONE on November 17, 2017.

Damn man...

I really wish they'd make the TV shows intertwine with the films. Grant Gustin is a great Flash and it's going to be hard to see Miller in the red suit. Would be great to see Oliver Queen from ARROW in the DC films too but I guess it's wishful thinking. Shit.

I knew nothing about this guy prior to the announcement that they were given Grant Gustin the shaft by recasting him. So I went to the Googs to find out more about him and this interview seems to confirm what I suspected; this guy is bat shit crazy.
I'm a big fan of the TV show, so it really didn't matter to me who they put in the role, I'm not planning on seeing it because they already have a good Flash.

And fans hopes for his character in The Flash are that something happens where it needs to be recast.

Do we really need a solo flash movie when he already has a show? Justice League already has Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and maybe green lantern. You could leave flash out and the film might be better by keeping it from feeling overcrowded like Avengers 2.

I love Ezra. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower was my shit but he was horribly miscast as Barry Allen like most of the actors in this D.C.C.U. When he was first being rumored to play Nightwing I was all for that. He embodies that brooding very well. This... Not so much.

Will no give him the benefit of the doubt. I detest the man as an actor and even more as portraying this character. He doesn't fit in the least for this light hearted humorous character that the Flash is at his core, and he'll never measure up to Gustin anyway even if there is no chance Gustin would play the big screen version of him. I'm not even going to see this movie when it releases. I'll see Batman v Superman, Aquaman, and The Batman standalone. I'll be skipping Flash and Wonder Woman

Willing to give him the benefit of a doubt despite him probably not being the best candidate for the DCCU film version of the Flash. Looking forward to seeing how badass the suit looks after being pleasantly satisfied with all of the Justice League members looks thus far.
