F. Javier Gutierrez is the latest director to join The Crow remake

3 years agoby:

I know everyone was really excited to hear that THE CROW remake was still happening. Because obviously we didn't have enough terrible Crow movies after the first. Sometimes you do something so right the first time, everything after it is automatic crap.

After seeing that "Slash as the Crow" concept art, I was glad that Bradley Cooper and director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo dropped out.

Now another director has been hired for the remake. F. Javier Gutiérrez (BEFORE THE FALL) has signed on along with writer Jesse Wigutow (IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY).

Yay. I wonder who they will try to go after to play Eric Draven. I shudder to think. Chance Crawford?

I think the problem I have with this...

...isn't that the original film was a classic (it was an interesting cult film and had great cinematography, but I leave it there); what bothers me is that the storyline itself is so been-there, done-that. The factors that made the original film what it was were primarily: the direction/style and the music. It was very much of its time, from the goth look to the NIN soundtrack. But the whole [link] thing has been done a lot before and after, so there's nothing about this story that really

There's no logical reason for this to be made, apart from money; and I can't imagine any aspiring, stylistically-unique director signing on to it. Would be something suited for a dude like John Moore or something.

A remake is a terrible idea, but I'll still throw around an idea.
Sasha Baron Cohen.

Can we seriously get a petition done to stop this remake, I mean what is the point?

For some reason, I think Channing Tatum's name is going to pop up when it comes to casting for Erik/The Crow.
