Back in the day, composer Fabio Frizzi frequently collaborated with genre icon Lucio Fulci, contributing some unforgettable music to films like ZOMBIE, THE BEYOND, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD, and THE PSYCHIC (some of that PSYCHIC music was also used in KILL BILL). Now Frizzi is working on composing the score for one of my most highly anticipated projects – PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH, a reboot of the PUPPET MASTER franchise that was written by BONE TOMAHAWK / BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99's S. Craig Zahler.

Directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund, the reboot centers on

a recently divorced young man who discovers a mint condition Blade doll in his deceased brother’s closet and plans to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders.  All hell breaks loose at the Postville Lodge during the auction when a strange force animates all of the various puppets throughout the convention as they go on a bloody killing spree.

Thomas Lennon, Udo Kier, Michael Paré, Barbara Crampton, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin, Alex Beh, Tina Parker, Skeeta Jenkins, and Charlyne Yi star.

Producer Dallas Sonnier says that, thanks to Frizzi's music,

Our total reimagining of PUPPET MASTER is now the best-sounding gonzo, gory, gruesome horror/comedy of all time."

If you're concerned that Frizzi's score means the familiar sound of Richard Band's PUPPET MASTER theme won't be heard in the film, have no fear – Band is also involved with this project, working on updating and revising that classic theme.

PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH exists separately from the original PUPPET MASTER timeline at Full Moon, which Full Moon founder Charles Band is free to continue expanding at any time – in fact, Band just released the latest entry in the original franchise, PUPPET MASTER: AXIS TERMINATION, a few months ago.
