Fast & Furious 6 blu-ray to feature a spoilerish scene from James Wan's Fast & Furious 7

11.27.2013

SPOILERS for those that have not seen FAST & FURIOUS 6!

For those picking up the FAST & FURIOUS 6 blu-ray on December 10th, get ready for a unique extra; a scene from director James Wan's FAST AND FURIOUS 7! We're well into spoiler territory here, so those who saw the post credits scene in the latest entry know that Han (Sung Kang) was killed at the end of the film by none other than Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), who vows that he's coming after the band of car thieves/heist bandits, starting with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel).

Here's what the scene entails:

The scene in question is the gang at Han's funeral. So, if you were hoping that his death at the end of Fast & Furious 6 (which, in a surprise twist, was actually from Tokyo Drift) was a misdirect, it looks like you're out of luck. He's dead for real, and it's hit the gang hard. There aren't any tears shed (they're all too manly for that), but Vin Diesel does croak out "You were always my brother, Han. He put you in this grave, so now I'll do the same to him."

But Han's death isn't the big takeaway from the scene. We already knew he was dead. The bombshell comes when Ludacris says, "First Han, now Hobbs is laid up, of all people." So at some point between FF6 and FF7, something serious happened to Hobbs to put him in the hospital. Considering new director James Wan has been tweeting about filming with the Rock, and the latter has been showing pictures from the set, it's not like the accident will be offscreen. We're betting that whatever happens to put Hobbs out of commission happens very early on during FF7, probably during the film's opening action scene.

So, it looks like Ian Shaw will likely be set up to be one bad mama-jama at the beginning of FAST AND FURIOUS 7 with the likelihood of him taking out Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs at the beginning of the film ('cause you KNOW The Rock ain't stayin' down for good!). Judging by this, it sounds like Wan is setting up Statham to be someone you don't want to f*ck with and then some, which is pretty damn cool, especially when it's Statham. The FAST & FURIOUS franchise continues to get better and better and even though director Justin Lin has traded in cars for secret agents (he's directing the next BOURNE film), I am excited as shit to see this beautiful smash-em-up series to continue.

FAST AND FURIOUS 7 starring Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tony Jaa, Kurt Russell, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black, Michael Jai White, Ronda Rousey, Djimon Hounsou, and of course, Bow Wow, races into theaters on July 11, 2014.

Lin is wrong for Bourne and should have stuck to this series. Wan has a spotty record, with horror being his best genre. I won't count him out on this, but Lin was great for the FF series and had a streak going. I don't have enough faith in Wan that he will maintain the 'quality' of these last couple FF films. That said, this cast is awesome and Statham and Jaa put everyone else out of their league (except maybe Johnson, but he's in the hospital, so who knows). Statham WILL be the best villain

He's awesome and can do bad pretty well. Looking forward to this, but I'm skeptical. And I really hope that Johnson doesn't stay out of commission for long.

This just sounds great. Fast and Furious has been great from 5 onwards so far. I like how they're keeping the momentum going considering **SPOILER** no one is on the wanted list anymore after the last movie.

Statham is going to kill it as the villain in this movie. Regardless of th speculation of how active a role The Rock will have in this movie, as along as we get a fight scene between Statham and Johnson and a fight scene between Diesel and Statham, this will be a great movie. Oh and

I makes sense that The Rocks role will be smaller this time due him still filming Hercules and taking time out of his schedule to appear in FF7 as the opening scene and possibly in the end.

Excited for this

Really enjoyed Fast 6, loved the scene with shaw/the big dude vs the rock/vin diesel, if something is putting the Rock in the hospital it had better be a hand to hand fight scene with Statham, I want to see that more than anything in this next film, or Statham and Jaa throwing down, and lets not forget Michael Jai White, potential for a lot of great fights in this.

I don't think Michael Jai White is in this. There's a bit of a misunderstanding.

What about Giselle's funeral? She was hot. But yeah, bring on Fast 7.

I thought Fast 6 was a really fun film, but I am hoping for more of a serious turn this time around which looks like we'll be getting. Can't wait to see Diesel/Johnson throw down against Statham.

Judging by Wan's style, say for example Death Sentence, since it is outside of the horror genre, I think it's safe to say that it will probably have a much more serious and darker tone. I'm really looking forward to it.

I wonder if any more of them die this time around. It would be really ballsy if they killed off Paul Walker.

Well, for Statham to really be effective as a villain, he either has to survive to the next film(s) and/or take important people down with him.
