Feel the coldness in this new poster for Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams' Blue Valentine

It's amazing what color and environment can do for the impression you get from an image. This new and simplistically evocative poster for Derek Cianfrance's recently gimped BLUE VALENTINE is one I really like. The image of two lovers together is impassioned, but the cold surroundings and the cool color hue paint a much more screwed up (and frankly, realistic) picture of what this "love story" is really about.

BLUE VALENTINE opens in limited release (very limited release thanks to the NC-17 rating) on December 31st.

Synopsis: BLUE VALENTINE is the story of love found and love lost told in past and present moments in time. Flooded with romantic memories of their courtship, Dean (Ryan Gosling) and Cindy (Michelle Williams) use one night to try and save their marriage.

Great poster

Hopefully all the ratings controversy will make people want to see the film even more.

Good poster. Can't wait to see this NC-17 or not.

Nice poster, but I was hoping the Weinsteins were still working on getting an appeal on the flick. Still planning on traveling far to see it though.

Yeah, no word yet unfortunately on that appeal (whether it's still happening or if we're just waiting for a result or what). But hopefully we'll hear something soon.
