No, Will Ferrell will NOT be appearing on an upcoming episode of "Family Guy." At least not to my knowledge. He will, however, be producing a new comedy titled STEWIE. JoBlo.com sources tell us that Ferrell and his ANCHORMAN/TALLADEGA NIGHTS director Adam McKay will produce the indie comedy through their Gary Sanchez Productions company. The film follows a nerdy guy who is pressured into losing his virginity by his overbearing best friend, who wants to document the humiliating ordeal. Andrew Gurland and Huck Botko wrote and will direct the film for Ferrell. The film sounds somewhat similar to Gurland and Botko's 2004 comedy MAIL ORDER BRIDE which follows a guy who offers to pay for a mail order bride for his friend in exchange for the opportunity to film the experience. That movie was framed as a documentary (even though it was fake) but STEWIE will be a straight forward comedy. It's unclear where the film will be set up as Sanchez has a development deal with Paramount but STEWIE is also being produced by Principato-Young who have a deal with Fox. The project could begin filming as early as this spring so stay tuned for more details as we find them.

Extra Tidbit: Sanchez is also producing a comedy HBO pilot with Danny McBride starring.

Not sure I even heard of "Mail Order Bride", but this reminds me a lot more of "The 40 Year Old Virgin".
