‘Fin-ternational’ Sharknado 5 starts filming today

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Oh, boy. It was bound to happen. I have not seen any of the SHARKNADO motion pictures. A choice few people have told me I'm missing out. Okay. Sure. Whatever you say, guys. That said, I do have a bit of respect for the brand as the titles for the sequels are rather fun, in a massively self-aware sense. Live and let live, am I right?

If these flicks float your boat – or in this case SINK your boat. Haha. Sorry. It's the film influencing me –  then you will be over the moon to know Syfy and The Asylum announced today that Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will return in SHARKNADO 5! That's only the working title, by the way. But let's start guessing! SHARKNADO 5: JAWSOME! Or maybe, SHARKNADO 5: DEEP BLUE PEE. Or, possibly, SHARKNADO 5: FIN-DEPENDENCE DAY.

Okay, enough.

Fin-ing (fin-ing = filming, get it? No? Damn.) began today in Bulgaria on the flick which "will film in more than 5 countries, including the UK and Australia." Australia? Could be cool. But we need a shark vs kangaroo scene! Which we will probably get.

The original SHARKNADO spawned SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE, SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!, and SHARKNADO: THE 4TH AWAKENS. Like I said all fun titles. They are really giving the FEAST guys a run for their money there. Anyhow, THE 4TH AWAKENS (I'm told) ends with the Eiffel Tower being 'Nado-thrown' into Niagara Falls, and that was supposedly a set-up to chillingly indicate that "no one in the world is safe!" because in SHARKNADO 5, the rest of the world braces for a global sharknado!

I'm just going to end this here. My mother taught me to just walk away from situations like this. I'll be hanging out over in the article if you wanna join me, guys. Mike's out.

Anthony C. Ferrante, director of the first four, is back helming, based on a script by Scotty Mullen.

I just don't understand how– when did she– I can't see how– Urgh. What a shame.
