Find out which major fight was cut out of Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War Chris Evans cut battle scene

If you haven't yet been to see CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, be warned that there will be a few minor spoilers below. The recently released Marvel epic has been performing exceptionally well both commercially and critically with one of the main draws being the great superhero on superhero battles spread throughout the film, but according to CIVIL WAR screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, there was one battle we never got to see.

While speaking with Fandango, Markus and McFeely said that "there was a good fight between Captain America and Black Widow that we lost mainly due to time." The fight never made it to the final cut of CIVIL WAR because the screenwriters reasoned that they had already addressed the tensions between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), but also because a similar fight between Black Widow and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) was featured in the film.

[Cap and Black Widow] clearly have a deep relationship even though they're clearly on opposite sides, and you never know how many times you need to hit that over the course of the movie. I think it works without this fight, but we certainly didn't know if it would.

As to who won that cutting room floor battle, Stephen McFeely said "I guess Cap did, let's just say he got away in the moment, how about that?" Our own JimmyO conducted his own interview with the CIVIL WAR screenwriters recently, which goes into INFINITY WAR, Spider-Man, and Marvel's villain problem. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is currently playing in theaters, so be sure to check out both Paul Shirey and Eric Walkuski's CIVIL WAR reviews and let us know what you thought of the film!

We missed another game of patty cake...gasp

For one, Cap could crush her skull in his hands because she's a friggin' human for crying out loud. I don't care how talented she is, she should have been killed 10 times over in these movies. Winter Soldier had her by the neck and should have snapped it like celery but he didn't because that doesn't sell toys. The whole movie was fluff in a can. Its just a fake cheese spread; heavy taste, full of calories, but ultimately unfulfilling.

Hey, you do realize nobody was out for blood in this movie (until the end with Stark vs Bucky). The whole point was to capture/flee, not kill during the airport fight scene. Everyone had to kind of hold back and incapacitate, NOT KILL.

Sure, that's why I bought a ticket for a movie titled, "Civil WAR" so I can watch superhumans pull punches and wink at each other. You can see that on the CW any day of the week. Should have been called, Captain America: Civil Argument at the Dinner Table.
The only character who actually wanted to kill someone was Black Panther. I don't think even Tony would have killed the Winter Soldier because of his conscience. Black Panther was the only, ONLY, serious character in this cartoon. And don't

Rhodes would have been reduced to hamburger after a free fall in a metal suit.

Loved the movie and very happy with what I ended up seeing - as far as I'm concerned this would have been over indulging us. I also think that both the Winter Soldier and Civil War has established an excellent platonic relationship between the two and I'm happy they kept their disagreement very civilized (unlike with Stark, where the two have always had a lot of friction in play on various issues - making a fight far more likely) - plus, as stated, it would have gone down exactly as the

Its probably for the best that this was cut, though I'd love to see the deleted scene just because fight choreography in Winter Soldier and this is just that damn good. But her and Cap, well I can't envision one without the other ever since Winter Soldier. Truth be told, she's probably the best chemistry with Evans of any two actors in the MCU. I don't know if I would push a relationship with them, but they make an amazingly natural team personality wise.

I'm actually glad that they didn't end up fighting one another and it was her and Hawkeye instead. She and Cap have a deep friendship displayed since Avengers and expanded upon even more in Winter Soldier; so the two of them fighting wouldn't have been as high stakes or as entertainer as Stark fighting Rogers and/or Widow fighting Hawkeye.

And if she had fought Cap, then who's to say she wouldn't have done what she had done to Black Panther when Steve and Bucky were heading for the jet. Her

And if she had fought Cap, then who's to say she wouldn't have done what she had done to Black Panther when Steve and Bucky were heading for the jet. Her vital and pivotal action in that scene was crucial to Cap and Bucky finding Zemo.
